Today I’m going to show you some of the bags that almost made it into my October’s wishlist, but for some reason they didn’t.

First of all, they were more expensive that I could possibly spend on a bag, and this time my wishlist consisted mainly of more affordable items. Secondly, there were other items, which were higher on my list, so they won.

I’m starting with a bag from “The Row”, by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.
It’s a classic, leather and suede doctor bag in black, and you can find it in Net-a-Porter, for €3.850. I know the price is over the top, but let’s not think about that for a while. Looking at this bag, I thought that it reminded me a lot of Victoria Beckham’s “Victoria” tote. I believe that the similarity is obvious. Unfortunately I couldn’t find a link for you to buy the mini Victoria tote in black online, but I found it in other really beautiful colors for you to choose.

Starting with the light gray color, which the designer named cement. It’s a small tote in gray leather, matte finish, two top handles, three internal compartments, light-gold hardware, feet, fully lined in cream leather and a zip fastening, according to Net-a-Porter.

Punk fashion: elements of influence

Trends that marry all the qualities of an appealing lifestyle, that marry together quality craftsmanship, elegance and an an attitude towards a life that indulges the senses and you know roughly where our tastes lie. Hence there is many a trend we opt to simply not push - stand for everything and you stand for nothing. Despite this there are some fashion trends in 2011 which, despite being unlikely to indulge in ourselves, we simply can't ignore. And that's because they have an impact on other trends that are important to us.

One such trend is punk - a trend that last emerged in 2010 and one that will continue to influence the fashion aesthetic of 2011 and potentially beyond. Partially filling the vacuum left behind by done and dusted trends, such as the likes of military, gothic and grunge, it's punk's ability to impact on other trends, such as 2011's motorcycle chic trend (the stronger and more versatile of the two trends), that makes it worth watching and noting.

Good Things Come In Small Packages

As anyone who’s survived a fashion week is well aware, you basically live out of your bag from sunrise until long past sunset (stopping home in between shows and after-parties is completely out of the question). So when it comes to purse size, the bigger the better—the better to hold your laptop, iPhone, digital camera, notebook, a pair of flats, and the assorted mix of miniature beauty products you will surely need to keep that pale complexion and those greasy bangs from getting in the way of street-style superstardom. Here, we’ve amassed a short list of our favorite shrunken-down beauty essentials to help you make it through the non-stop hustle and bustle of New York fashion week.
